On behalf of EU-FIRE Kft., Péter Kovács strategic director participated at the conference and round table „Circular Economy: renewable energy in focus” which took place on April 28, 2017 and was organized as a joint effort by Szent István University, the University of Reykjavík and the National Agricultural Research and Innovation Centre.
The primary objective of „circular economy” is the reutilization of resources. It offers such an alternative model, as opposed to the conventional, linear economic model, which takes into account that the utilization and transformation of natural resources into products, the purchasing and use of products and the removal thereof thereafter involve significant costs and on the long run they do not constitute a feasible and preferable solution due to the extensive depletion of our resources. Circular economy focuses on efforts to sustain our resources and products as long as possible, as well as significantly reducing the resulting waste.
During the conference it was pointed out that the topic of circular economy is becoming increasingly popular among large businesses, an increasing number of them are applying it, which includes efforts of production without waste and the utilization of renewable energies.
